Cars and Cats and Conference

This week was interesting.  If I'm to be honest here, Monday was a bit of a bummer to start.  I think I was s bit homesick but that will happen and just knowing that everyone is watching out for each other helps a lot.  By noon I was fine!  Monday is P-Day for the missionaries (as opposed to Sat for us).  A lot of them stop by the office for various reasons and it's fun to see them.  It was a beautiful, warm spring day and some were out biking...for fun...not proselyting!  They came in with mud on their shorts and bikes and great big smiles on their faces!  Others were playing b-ball at the church or just hanging out with each other.  It brightened my day to see them.

Tuesday night I got a call from an Elder with my first P-Day injury.  He's been here just under two months, he and his companion were wrestling and he had hurt his neck.  We tried the usual self-help treatments but he ended up getting x-rays the next day.  Luckily it was just swollen and inflamed muscles around the spinal column and with pain pills, muscle relaxants, and an anti-inflammatory he'll recover.  Unfortunately not without a grandmotherly reminder of approved P-Day activities.

Don has been working insanely hard to get and keep the cars in order.  Unfortunately it's a bit harder when you're not the only one with access to the computer programs.  He'll get something organized only to find someone else has undone it!  We have transfers this coming week and he needs to get it all together before Tuesday.

Wednesday I picked up a mouth guard.  When we got here, I had two teeth that were really bothering me.  I went to the dentist and we decided it was me gritting my teeth at night.  Not that I had anything to worry about...but in the last few weeks of becoming a bit more familiar with my calling, it's been doing better.  Anyway, I now have a night guard to wear!

We had our king-sized bed delivered on Tuesday.  Not that we don't love each other but getting enough restful sleep at night is imperative!!  Everything here is on TV one hour later so we don't watch much in the evenings.  Lights out about 9:30.

Tuesday night we picked up two of our Sisters and took them to dinner at a members home.  It was a nice humble meal in a humble home and we had a great visit with them. For those that know me well...you'll understand when I say that seeing their cat jump up on the table just before we ate, just about did me in!

The weather is typical Spring in the south.  Warm and sunny, warm and rainy, cool and misty...just all over the place.  The grass has greened up and the trees are in bloom.  Conference today has been wonderful and Testimony building.  I am grateful for a living Prophet and his counsel and guidance and I'm grateful to be in the Great Kentucky Louisville Mission (GKLM).  Next week lots of pictures!
